To see how the 25 feeder answers can be grouped into 5 groups of 5 answers, one for each meta puzzle, refer to the solution page for “Base of Operations”.
This puzzle uses the category “KTANEy words that contain other KTANEy words”. The boxes near the top of the page hint at words containing other words. The “inner” words then connect to the clues, leading to further answers, from which letters are extracted as the lines suggest.
